small businesses, and large businesses. |
|
| Our Review:
Turbo Tax is another product of the Intuit Corporation,
which automatically makes it worth checking out. Intuit
is known for their financial software suites including
Turbo Tax and QuickBooks. The service that this company
offers is nearly unmatched, and their reputation
definitely proves them to be a company worth considering
for your tax software needs. |
|
| User Review:
Turbo Tax was so easy to use. I was so glad that I was
able to get easy tax software, because last year I used
one of those confusing online programs that talked in
circles and made me very confused about income taxes. I
love the easy use of this product, and I definitely plan
on using it in the future, as well. |

H&R Block TaxCut
One H&R Block Way
Kansas City, MO 64105
800-472-5625 |
|
| Services Offered:
Tax software |
|
| Company Overview:
H&R Block was originally formed as United Business
Company by two brothers. In 1955, it became known as H&R
Block, Inc. In 1956, the company opened 7 offices in New
York City, to prosper from the IRS no longer offering
free tax preparation there. The company joined the
public in 1962, and became listed on the NYSE in 1969.
They have over 17,000 full time employees and more than
22 million clients nationwide. |
|
| Our Review:
H&R Block is one of the leading names when it comes to
income taxes. So many people rely on this company that
almost wasn’t. Fortunately, the brothers decided to
start a tax business as a sole career instead of dumping
it for their day jobs. Now, millions of customers get
satisfactory results and excellent service every year
from H&R Block. We don’t really need to review them,
because their reputation speaks for itself. |
|
| User Review:
I used to have a local accountant do my taxes. She
retired last year, and I wasn’t quite sure how to take
care of my own taxes. I didn’t want to pay a lot, but I
wanted to make sure they were done right. That’s why I
took them to H&R Block. I love the service I got and how
much of a refund they were able to get me. |

Free Tax Software vs. Buying It: |
|
Every year, the
IRS lists a bunch of websites that offer free tax
software and filing. Every year, more and more companies
pop up on television ads and commercials talking about
their free tax filing services, and how so many people
can benefit from them. And still, every year, there are
a handful of tax software products that sell like
hotcakes even though they cost upwards of $30 or more.
Some people feel safer investing in tax software each
year, rather than uploading their personal information
to the internet sites. Others have simply done their
taxes using tax software for so many years that they
don’t see any other way of doing it. It all depends on
the individual and what they want from their tax
preparation. There isn’t a right or wrong answer for
anyone who is considering investing in tax software.
Free software works great for many people, while others
get more benefits and satisfaction from buying their tax
software. Free online tax software is great, but many of
the products are limited in what they will do. For
example, if you have a lot of deductions or major
business expenses, you should really consider investing
in quality tax software rather than using the free
filing software found online. For people who have simple
taxes, such as those with no itemizations, deductions,
or other complicated schedules to complete, using free
tax software can be useful. It is simple, basic, and
provides exactly what you need to get your taxes done
right. It doesn’t make sense to pay someone hundreds of
dollars to do your taxes, or even to invest in tax
software, when your forms are simple and only take a few
minutes to fill out. Really, it all is a matter of
getting what you need and finding what works for you.
You might enjoy one product that someone else doesn’t
find useful, for example. Take the time to compare your
options, and make the decision that suits your needs,
regardless of what other people say or do.
